Bio

Jessica Foster works in a variety of media and is especially interested in issues regarding nature appreciation and conservancy, social change, and global indigenous histories. Working primarily with clay, fiber arts, and painting, her passion for nature study is evident through her devoted process in allowing the materials to inform the composition. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, she has a deep appreciation for nature, water, and Native American ways of life, going on frequent solo camping excursions to connect with the trees and dirt before creating artworks. Foster received an AA in Elementary Education from Seattle Central Community College and a BA in Art Education from St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX and is an impassioned teacher of art to youth of all ages.
